next week in NOLA!

this time next week i'll be in new orleans! i am so excited. i have never been before. actually, i've never been anywhere in the south before (besides airports).

i will be visiting my little sister who is in grad school at tulane. one of my very best girlfriends from college, caroline, is meeting me there. we plan to have a ridiculous amount of fun. i haven't seen caroline since the spring of 2007. crazy! we plan to eat good food (i may even eat some dairy and gluten ... ooooh!), cook some of that good food ourselves(check out both of their blogs that i linked, i have a feeling the whole weekend will center around food), and explore the city.

caroline is also participating in a half marathon while we're there. not to mention that we'll be celebrating halloween on bourbon street. i just know we'll encounter some crazy times. i'm also really looking forward to exploring some of the neighborhoods i've been researching. there seems to be some really cool creative projects going on & i know that the people of NOLA are still working to rebuild post-katrina.

i've been reading up on NOLA but i'm most excited about the design sponge city guide. i can't wait to experience the city and do a big wrap-up post here complete with pictures, my favorite finds, etc.

i'm particularly excited about perch.

anyway! i'm sure i'll have lots to share next week while i'm there!
